1. RULES
1.1 The Regatta will be governed by the ‘rules’
as defined in the 2009-2012 Racing Rules of Sailing, as modified
by Appendix E and the Sailing Instructions.
2. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
2.1 The regatta is open to all owners of properly
registered boats of the EC-12 Class.
2.2 Entries from applicants outside the U.S. may be
accepted providing both Yacht and Skipper are properly registered
with their national authority in the EC-12 Class.
3. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
3.1 Check in and measurement of boats and sails will
be held from 1200 to 1600 hours on Wednesday, November 7, 2012.
3.2
Skipper’s Meetings: Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 0915 hours.
3.3 Races:
Thursday, Fleet racing begins at 0945 hours
with no fleet race starting after 1600 hours.
Friday, Fleet Racing
begins at 0930 hours with no fleet race starting after 1600 hours.
Saturday, Fleet Racing begins at 0930 hours with
the final race finishing approximately at 1500 to 1600 hours.
3.4
Saturday, an awards banquet will be held at approximately 1830
hours.
4. LOCATION
4.1 The Regatta will be held at the lake behind the
Comfort Suites at the World Golf Village, St. Augustine, FL.
5. ENTRY
5.1 Eligible competitors may register their boat
by completing the official entry form and submitting it, together
with payment for all fees.
5.2 Regatta registration may be by mail
to the name and address on the entry form or by online registration
during the entry period at: http://amya.spruz.com/regattas.htm.
The entry period will begin on September 6 and end on October 19,
2012. No entries will be accepted before or after those dates.
5.3
There is a no boat limit for the regatta.
6. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
6.1 The sailing instructions
will be available for download on the Nationals page at the Class
Website, www.ec12.org and the Florida EC-12 Association website
www.floridaec12.com.
The Sailing Instructions
will also be emailed
to the competitors properly entered and after
October 19, 2012.
7. COURSE AREA
7.1 The Control Area will be the southern
shoreline facing the lake. The Race Director will set a course
with leeward and windward legs to fit the pond and conditions.
2-1/2 laps will be preferred.
7.2 The staging area for your boats
are to the east side swimming pool.
8. FLEET MANAGEMENT AND SCORING
8.1 The Regatta will
be conducted using the racing portion of the Equal Opportunity
Racing System (EORS) with a fleet promotion and relegation process.
8.2
The fleets will be seeded by the Race Committee from a performance
ranking list covering the last 14 months. The first race will NOT
be scored.
8.3 The Low Point Scoring System of Appendix A will
apply.
9. PRIZES
9.1 Trophies will be awarded to the top
six positions.
9.2 AMYA gold chevrons will be awarded to the top
three positions
