1. RULES
1.1 The Regatta will be governed by the ‘rules’
as defined in the 2009-2012 Racing Rules of Sailing, as modified
by Appendix E and the Sailing Instructions.
2. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
2.1 The regatta is open to all owners of properly
registered boats of the EC-12 Class.
2.2 Entries from applicants outside the U.S. may be
accepted providing both Yacht and Skipper are properly registered
with their national authority in the EC-12 Class.
2.3 Eligible competitors may enter their boat by completing
the official entry form and submitting it, together with payment
for all fees, to the address on the entry form during the entry
period. The entry period will begin on August 24 and end on October
2, 2009. No entries will be accepted before or after those dates.
3. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
3.1 The Regatta will be held at the Comfort Suites
World Golf Village, 475 Commerce Lake Dr., St. Augustine, FL 32095.
Exit 323 at I-95 (NAV: 29°58’59.50” N, 81°27’22.62”
W) Detailed directions will be provided with frequency assignments.
3.2 Registration and measurement of boats and sails
will be held from 1200 to 1600 hours on Wednesday, November 11,
2009.
3.3 A Rules Q&A seminar by US Sailing Judge, Ken
Morrison will be held from 1600 to 1700 hours.
3.4 Welcome Cocktail Reception from 1730 to 1900 hours.
3.5 Skippers’ Meetings:
Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 0915 hours.
3.6 Races:
Thursday, Seeding races will begin at 0930 hours
followed by fleet racing until approximately 1600 hours.
Friday, Fleet Racing will begin at 0930 hours.
No races will start after 1600 hours.
Saturday, Fleet Racing will begin at 0930 hours.
No races will start after 1600 hours.
3.7 Saturday, an awards banquet will be held at approximately
1830 hours.
4. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
4.1 The sailing instructions will be available for
download on the Nationals Website at www.floridaec12.com/nationals.html.
The Sailing Instructions will also be emailed to the competitors
properly entered after October 2, 2009.
5. COURSE AREA
5.1 The lake is located directly behind the Comfort
Suites Hotel. The staging areas are on the flat areas of grass on
each side of the pool. The course will be set by the Race Director.
6. FLEET MANAGEMENT AND SCORING
6.1 The Regatta will be conducted using the Equal
Opportuity Racing System (EORS) with a fleet promotion and relegation
process.
6.2 The Low Point Scoring System of Appendix A will
apply.
7. PRIZES
7.1 Trophies will be awarded to the top six positions.
7.2 AMYA gold chevrons will be awarded to the top
three positions
